Advanced Diploma of Government (Leadership & Management)

The Pacific Institute of Leadership and Governance is now offering Advanced Diploma of Government (Leadership and Management) qualification. This program is part of the policy directive under the Public Sector Training Policy through NEC Decision 61/2021, 26 April 2021.  The comprehensive program is designed specifically for the public sector executives to succeed in the complex and rapidly changing world of government. Comprised of 15 units of competencies, the program covers a wide range of topics including policy development and implementation, strategic planning, budgeting, stakeholder engagement, and leadership. The well-tailored program is primed to strengthen confidence and understanding of leading states agencies in three tiers of government. Further, the program is perfect for those seeking to advance their career in government or for those aspiring to perform to the top executive leadership roles in the Public Service.  

TWO TAILORED DELIVERY OPTIONS

Option One: Block – Classroom Empowered Learning

The block method is a flexible, classroom empowered focused training to be conducted in 3 blocks spaced over a period involving a blend of approaches to suit the needs of the target group. The block training features;

  • 30 weeks duration with breaks in between;
  • 5-7 weeks per learning block and 4 weeks off for workplace projects;
  • Live contact sessions for participants, to zoom in wherever they are;
  • Participant self-generated learning—all materials and activities will be uploaded online for participants to learn at their own pace.
  • Learning will be facilitated and delivered by professional trainers and guest lecturers with previous experiences as heads of government organisations.

Option Two: Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

This approach is highly suitable for those with sufficient experience at senior public service executive role. Is public sector executive management and leadership part of your current role? WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY?

  • Serving and aspiring Heads of Public Sector Departments, Agencies, Statutory Authorities, Provincial and District Administrations and their deputies
  • Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years at an Executive level (Deputy Secretary, Director, CEO, Administrator, Commissioner etc.) or over 10 years in a Senior Manager’s role
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree qualification
