BACHELOR OF BUSINESS MANAGEMENT IN HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
PROGRAM CONTEXT
This qualification is developed upon request by the Pacific Institute of Leadership and Governance (PILAG), formerly Papua New Guinea Institute of Public Administration (PNGIPA) to train and educate Senior Managers and Human Resource Practitioners in the PNG Public Service to enhance their operational and strategic HR knowledge, skills and attitudes. It provides a pathway for the Diploma level graduands from PILAG to be able to further their qualifications to Bachelor’s Degree level, thereby enabling experienced and working public servants to pursue further studies both in Papua New Guinea and abroad. The program is a collaborative effort between PILAG and UPNG. This partnership will extend into the delivery of the program where UPNG and PILAG will co-facilitate the program.
The course program comprises of 20 subjects including:

- Introduction to Psychology
- Employment Management
- Introduction to Industrial Relations
- Performance Management
- Human Behavior in Organizations

- Compensation Management
- Business Information Systems
- Global Human Resource Management
- Contemporary Issues in HRM
- Employment Contracts, Conflicts & Negotiation
