This qualification is the third of the five levels of training and assessment (TAA) qualifications in PNG. The units of competencies within this qualification cover skills in design and developing training programs, learning resources, assessment plans, and assessment tools.
Training Outcome
Upon completion of this qualification, you will be able to:
- Design and develop competency based training programs to meet client needs
- Plan and conduct assessment tools.
- Design and develop learning resources and assessment tools.
Target Group
This qualification is aimed at those who are already delivering training and or those who want to pursue a career in training and development.
Prerequisite
Those intending to take this qualification must have a Certificate 2 in Training and Assessment qualification and be currently involved in or have experience in Training delivery.
Assessment
You are required to demonstrate the skills knowledge and attitude set by the standards. A portfolio of evidence both at the workplace (community-based) and training room shall be collected to validate your competence. You are to liaise with your assessor on the range and type of assessment methods and tools used to assess your competence.
Assessment methods may involve workplace project; community tasks, presentation; workgroup simulation; role-play; case study; oral questioning; participation; demonstration; etc.
Rules of evidence and principles of assessment apply.
Certification
A Statement of Attainment is awarded for satisfactorily completing a unit or a set of units within the qualification. A NQF level 3 Certificate is awarded for successfully fulfilling the requirements of the five (5) units of competency.
Contact time and a minimum of 1 month workplace assessment.
Flexible options can be arranged based on agency request.
Workplace Visit
This is an important part of the training. It is important that you seek your supervisor’s assistance for the workplace, the assessor will:
- Make observation
- Conduct interview
- Do a job role checklist
- Collect portfolio of role/task evidence
- Collect 3rd party report
Training Evaluation
To measure impact of this training, you will participate in 5-Step Evaluation process.
- Pre-program- before the program delivery
- Reaction and learning evaluation – transfer of skills at the workplace
- Evidence evaluation- measuring the impact of training & feedback
