1974
Establishment
Vunadidir administrative college was established.
In 1974, IRTC Vunadidir was established and was called administrative college.
1994
Volcanic Eruption
The center was operated until 1994 when the twin Volcano eruption happened and the East New Britain Provincial Government used the State of Emergency (SOE) influence to evict the school from Vunadidir to utilize the property to resettle the East New Britain Provincial Government
1996
PNGIPA Vunadidir Admin College
Vunadidir Admin college moved to Kavieng.
In 1996 Papua New Guinea Institute of Public Administration, Vunadidir Administrative college was moved to Kavieng, New Ireland province. The school was relocated to an old government building , Department of Primary Industries (DPI) station near the National Fisheries College (Kavieng).
The operation of the school was there for almost 15 years.
2000
PNGIPA Movement
PNGIPA was moved back to ENB Vunadidir By Mr. Sinai Brown Former PS MP
Due to the change of Government, the former Public Service Minister Mr. Sinai Brown relocated the school back to Vunadidir on the 16th of June 2000.
Since then it was called Papua New Guinea Institute of Public Administration

Name transition of PNGIPA to PILAG
For now, its name has been transformed into the Pacific Institute of Leadership & Governance (PILAG).
